Abstract
Pendidikan sebagai tempat yang penting dalam pembangunan nasional hendaknya dapat mencetak siswa yang memiliki kapabilitas sebagai manusia dengan kriteria mampu memecahkan masalah. Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning diharapkan menjadi salah satu alternative permasalahan dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada mata pelajaran PKn. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, sedangkan metodenya adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dan tekhnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan litelatur. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 20 Bandung, dengan guru PKn dan siswa siswi Kelas IX sebagai subjek penelitan.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah (a) langkah-langkah yang dilakukan guru untuk mempersiapkan pembelajaran PKn yaitu penyusunan silabus, dan RPP (b) Implikasi model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada mata pelajaran PKn adalah model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa (c) Kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran problem based learning antara lain guru yang terlalu kaku dalam hubungannya dengan siswa sehingga suasana kelas yang “menyenangkan” sulit untuk di bangun (d) Upaya untuk mengatasi kendala yang dihadapi guru adalah guru berusaha untuk menjadi fasilitator pembelajaran dengan membangun suasana yang kondusif.
