Analisis Kesalahan Berdasarkan Teori Newman dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Materi Pecahan pada Siswa Kelas VII

Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kesalahan, faktor penyebab kesalahan dan respon guru dalam meminimalisasi kesalahan menyelesaikan soal cerita bilangan pecahan matematika berdasarkan teori Newman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini 32 siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian data dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut (1) Siswa melakukan kesalahan membaca masalah seperti dalam penulisan informasi yang diketahui dan penulisan satuian yang terlewat, (2) Siswa melakukan kesalahan memahami seperti kurang pahamnya yang ditanya dan kurang teliti dalam mengerjakan soal, (3) Siswa tidak dapat menyajikan model matematis untuk menyelesaikan persoalan yang diberikan, (4) Siswa tidak dapat menghitung dengan tepat dari model matematis, (5) Siswa tidak dapat menuliskan jawaban yang tidak sesuai dan tidak lengkap. Faktor penyebab kesalahan siswa yaitu kurang teliti, tergesa-gesa, tidak biasa menuliskan jawaban secara lengkap, kurang belajar/tidak paham materi, kurang latihan soal, dan tidak memahami soal. Respon guru dalam meminimalisasi kesalahan yaitu untuk menambah variasi soal, menekankan kepada siswa untuk lebih teliti, menekankan pemahaman siswa pada saat kegiatan belajar mengajar, dan menumbuhkan motivasi serta minat baca kepada siswa.
